PHS Innovation Center Hosts STEM Night of Family Fun

Tiger 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students and their families came out to enjoy the fun and games at STEM Night held at the Pryor High School Innovation Center on February 8, 2024.  Ten different stations offering STEM games were set up at the Innovation Center which is housed at the RSU Pryor Campus. flight simulator

Tigers had a chance to explore technology, engineering, aviation, and science all while having fun in the game-oriented atmosphere. The flight simulator was a popular attraction as well as the drone frisbee and drone golf stations.  Peering at the microscopic world intrigued students and parents alike.

Another station offered a glimpse into the world of virtual reality. Controlling a robot and a hands-on hydraulic robotic arm captured the attention of students and superintendents. Some students delved into the structure of DNA by creating popsicle models. Assembling straw rockets and then conducting test launches caught the attention of several students.  One particular challenging game highlighted the necessity of teamwork.

The activities were designed to introduce students to the high-skill/high-demand career opportunities in Oklahoma’s workforce.  The PHS Innovation Center offers a unique high school curriculum that blends industry experience with classroom education.
