Say Yes to FCS

PHS students Michael Brooner and Isabella Orcutt along with their teacher Mrs. Clark traveled to OSU Stillwater on Tuesday, October 24, to investigate careers in Family and Consumer Science Teaching (FCS) and Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES). 

Our Tigers enjoyed a damp-weather interactive campus tour, lol, and networking with peers, OSU students, teachers, and professors throughout the program.  Activities focused on how FCS careers impact daily life and encouraged students to choose that path when they come to OSU.

Oklahoma State University which “offers the only family and consumer sciences education degree program in Oklahoma” partners with the nationwide Say Yes to FCS campaign to recruit Family & Consumer Sciences Teachers. There is a shortage of FCS Teachers, who are needed to teach real world skills through Career & Technical Education (CTE).”
