keys to bond proposal 2026

Ongoing facility maintenance is also addressed in the April 7 bond proposal, which includes funding to protect the investment Pryor School District residents have made in facilities and programs. The proposal provides $5,745,240 for maintenance projects across the District.

Projects included in this portion of the proposal include roof repair and replacement, HVAC system repair and replacement, parking lot maintenance, and awning and canopy upgrades at the transportation hub and Jefferson Elementary.

Several district facilities are showing the natural wear that comes with time and regular use. Roofing at Roosevelt Elementary and Lincoln Early Childhood Center is in need of repair or replacement, and parking lots across the District also require maintenance.

Facilities Maintenance Director David Stanley noted that much of the construction at Roosevelt and Lincoln Early Childhood Center was completed during the 2010 bond cycle. Those materials are now 16 years old and require continued upkeep to remain safe, functional, and reliable.

“Taking care of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing is work that has to be done on a routine basis,” Stanley said.

Stanley also pointed to the aging HVAC units at Roosevelt Elementary and Lincoln Early Childhood Center, which are original to those buildings and are no longer manufactured.

“As new as they are, those AC units aren’t made anymore; they are aging out,” Stanley said. “We need something that works if the units fail.”

Pryor residents have made significant investments in Pryor Public Schools through the years, helping the district provide strong learning environments, quality facilities, and innovative programs for students. This bond proposal would help preserve those investments by addressing essential maintenance needs now, supporting the education of current and future Tigers for years to come.
