Amy Weston and Admin

Roosevelt Elementary’s Friday Celebration Assembly on April 25 brought more than just the usual fun and energy—it delivered a welcome surprise.

District administrators Superintendent Dr. Lisa Muller and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Ballard were invited to share the Joke of the Day, a favorite tradition among students. After delivering her joke and enjoying the gym’s laughter, Dr. Muller held onto the microphone for a very special announcement: Roosevelt first-grade teacher Aimee Weston had been selected as the Pryor Public Schools 2024–2025 Teacher of the Year!

The Roosevelt gym erupted in applause and the school's signature "stomp" as students and staff celebrated the moment. A surprised Mrs. Weston made her way down from the stands to be greeted by district leadership and her family. Her husband presented her with a bouquet of roses, and her daughter and father were also there to make the moment a memorable family event.

Assistant Superintendent John Potter, Chief Financial Officer Tiffany Bonfiglio, and Director of Teaching and Learning Kristen Graves were also on hand to help celebrate the special moment alongside the Roosevelt community.

As Pryor’s Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Weston will go on to represent the District in the statewide competition for the 2025–2026 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year.

Congratulations, Mrs. Weston!
