March has come and gone and that means spring sports are in full swing. The Tigers are having great starts to their seasons across the board.
On the track, a week after winning the Oologah Team Championship, the Girls Track team continued to shine winning the home, Mike Adair Invitational, championship. The 4x200 Relay Team of Braycee Trundle, Tayla Vance, Journey Nunley and Kynlee Coats finished in 1st place. Caitlin White took 1st place in the 3200m and 1600m with Alli Martin finishing 2nd place in both events. Journey Nunley finished 1st in the 200m and 2nd in the 100m. Trundle finished 2nd in the 800m and Lilyan Casey finished 3rd in the Disc. On the boys side, Gage Lefrere won the 100m at the Mike Adair Invitational. Josiah Long finished 3rd in the 3200m. Da'reon Bekka finished 4th in the 110m Hurdles and 6th in the 300m Hurdles. The boys 4x100m team finished 2nd.
On the diamond, the Slow Pitch Tigers are 18-1 and currently Ranked #2 in Class 5A. They will be back at home on April 7th against Fort Gibson with the game time set for 4:30 PM.
The baseball Tigers are 13-5 and 6-0 in district play. The Tigers will be facing district-rival Claremore on Monday(home) and Tuesday(away) with both games starting at 5 PM.
On the pitch, the Girls soccer team is 3-3(1-0 in District Play). They will be playing in the Southern Coast Cup in Alabama later this week. The boys team is 2-4(0-1 in district play). The boys and girls will battle Booker T. Washington next Tuesday in a district matchup in Tulsa.
Pryor Golf has had a good start to their season with the girls finishing 2nd overall at the East Central Invitational last week. Kylin Bowman took 3rd place, Aniston Stout was 4th with Nicci Stimson(6th) and Regan Swan(10th). At the Coweta Invitational this week, Aniston Stout finished 8th overall. The boys finished 4th overall at the Tahlequah Invitational earlier this week with Trooper Brown finishing 2nd and Wesley Gates in 7th.
At the Grove Tennis tournament this week, the girls were Team Champions! Abby Martin finished 3rd in the Girls 1Singles, Lily Holman finished 1st in the Girls 2Singles. In doubles, Reese Marlett and Izzy Martin finished 3rd in 1Doubles and Peyton Decker and Norah Joice finished 1st in the 2Doubles. On the boys side, they had a good showing last week at the Jim Hollis Pryor Invitational. Tai Nguyen finished 1st in the 1Singles. Brody England finished 4th in the 2Singles. On the doubles side, Cole Harrison and Bo Martin finished 3rd in the 1Doubles and Aiden Cox and Tyler Hays finished 4th in the 2Doubles.
