Tiger Seniors

This Friday night is not just the final regular season game for the Tigers, it's for the District 5A-4 Title. The matchup was set after Pryor took care of the Tulsa Memorial Chargers 60-14 on Friday and Del City knocked out Claremore. The Del City win at Claremore also helped Pryor clinch home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs on November 15th.

The Tigers will be hosting a playoff game inside Tiger Stadium for the first time since 2021 when they defeated Bishop Kelley. A lot is still to be determined but the three teams the Tigers could possibly face are McAlester, Bishop Kelley or Shawnee.

Del City enters Friday night's contest with a 8-1 record with the only blemish being against 6A Edmond Memorial on Week 1. They beat Claremore last week, 34-14 and outscored Claremore 14-0 in the second half after leading by just six points at halftime.

"Del City is a really good football team," said Pryor Head Coach Kenny Davis. "They have great team speed, are physical, and well coached. It will be important to stop the run and limit their big plays in the passing game. Offensively we need to be able to run the football and avoid penalties and turnovers."

The Tigers(7-2) are coming into this matchup riding a four game win streak with wins over Claremore and at Collinsville during that span. A Week Zero loss at Sallisaw and a heart breaking last second loss at Tahlequah are the two losses on the year.

Coach Davis knows this week is special for many reasons. "Playing for a district title in week 10 is definitely a cool experience. I will say our kids at the beginning of the year expected to be in this situation. We knew going into the season that Del City would be the favorite to win the district and it was one of our goals to be playing in this game."

The game will kickoff at 7 PM inside Eagle Stadium in Del City. If you can't make the game, we will be live streaming on our Youtube Channel (@PryorTigerVideo).

"We expect it to be a tough game, but our kids are playing with a lot of confidence and are excited for the opportunity to win the district," adds Davis.
