Pryor Middle School Students Explore Samurai History at the Philbrook Museum
Earlier this month, Pryor Middle School students in the English Language Arts Enrichment classes traveled to the Philbrook Museum in Tulsa to experience the Samurai Exhibit. Teacher Jessica Henry shared that students were amazed by the intricate details of the Samurai warriors on display — especially the realistic models featuring warriors mounted on horses.
"The armor was amazing, and the way the masks for the horses were made to look like dragons was incredible," Henry said. "Being able to see all of this in person really helped students understand the history of Japan and how the Samurai warriors came to be."
The trip gave students a unique, hands-on connection to the historical and cultural topics they are studying in class, bringing history vividly to life.

Seniors in Mrs. Hendrickson’s AP Literature and Composition class brought a poetic twist to March Madness!
Students became poets themselves, writing original poems and competing in a classroom poetry bracket. Then, they picked up pen and ink again to analyze their work, highlighting the literary techniques that transform words into lyric art.
Creativity, competition, and critical thinking—all in one lesson! #PryorTigerStrong

This week Jefferson 3rd through 5th graders learned about different careers from community members who work locally. Thank you Pryor Fire Department, Terry Thompson with RAE Corporation, Hannah Giddeon with Crossland Construction, Ruth Miller (Nurse) , Kennedy Fannin (Hairdresser), and Grace Rutherford (Pilot).
When students develop a passion for a future career path, they can apply that passion to learning and growth in the classroom. We can't wait to see the positive impact our students will make in their future careers!
