Today, Friday, April 30, is School Lunch Hero Day, and at Pryor Public Schools, we happen to think we have some of the very best.
This year’s celebration came with an extra reason to cheer as Pryor High School’s own Christina Black was recognized as OPAA Area Employee of the Year. Black was selected from among employees serving 24 school districts across Oklahoma and Texas.
Known for going above and beyond each day for students and her team at Pryor High School, she brings a positive energy to the kitchen that does not go unnoticed.
“Christina just has that personality that makes you happy and makes you want to come to work,” said Melissa Gonzalez, Director of Nutrition Services.
The recognition was shared with Black and the Pryor High School lunch crew in the cafeteria, where Superintendent Dr. Lisa Muller, Nutrition Director Amy Floch, and OPAA Operations Manager Jamie Looney joined the celebration with congratulations and cake.
The lunch crew shared that they are thankful to have Black in their kitchen and on their team, adding, “We are blessed with the best.”
Pryor Public Schools appreciates Christina Black and all of our lunch staff for the way they brighten the day and serve students with heart.
