As the school year winds down, Lincoln Tigers are already looking ahead and preparing for what’s next. Part of that preparation includes celebrating new beginnings—especially for students selected to lead their Houses in the upcoming school year.
The student body, faculty members, along with Dr. Ballard, Assistant Superintendent, gathered in the cafeteria for an all-school assembly to celebrate the announcement of the new 5th-grade House Leaders. These students were chosen through a thoughtful and rigorous selection process, including written applications and interviews with teachers and school administrators.
Students were selected for demonstrating strong leadership qualities—traits like helpfulness, patience, understanding, bravery, creativity, honesty, and resilience. To be chosen, students needed to show that they could be positive role models for their peers and uphold the core values of the Lincoln House system.
For example, teachers described one of the new Activus House leaders as a student who is constantly “sharpening her saw”—seeking out new learning opportunities in the classroom and exploring new hobbies and interests outside of school. Another new leader was praised for encouraging classmates with respect and kindness, already modeling what it means to lead with heart.
These new House Leaders have proven that they are capable of great things and genuinely strive to help others. Their leadership journey now includes guiding their classmates toward a deeper understanding of what it is to be a leader.
Lincoln Tigers are working together to plan an exciting new school year.
